Life has been...

Great! for the pass few days back in Singapore ive managed to spent some quality time with Edda. Be it from heading out for crabs from all over the east of Singapore, to a simple loving home cooked meal of Mee Goreng (if you didn't know, Edda cooks the best Mee Goreng & Chicken Curry noodles! i crave for it every time iam over), a 5km run from home to Bedok and back, a stroll in the park after dinner with her loving family, where we would walk hand in hand silent at times just enjoying each other company... or to cycle for hours through the East coast with the wind in our hair, poking fun at each other along the way till we reach the jetty, enjoying the rhythmical sea breeze, watching the amber in the sky retire from a long days work, embracing each other as we look out into the endless sea ahead... feeling complete.

All these could have been done alone, infact HAVE been done alone. Enjoyable, Satisfying, Relaxing yes no doubt about it but its totally different with you have the element of love in the things that you do. Its been a month since Edda and I got together and our friendship is close to knocking on to the door of a year now. Iam never bored of her presence, every day that we meet i would eagerly anticipate. Everytime when i send her off for work, watching her walk through the departure gates of the airport my heart sinks by a little.

a thought on love...

There is a saying "to love is not a feeling, it is an ability" my love for her through thick and thin since we met a year ago has not died out a single bit and never will, cause we choose to love despite the downs in our then friendship and in the present relationship, the arguments we have issues which we dont see eye to eye with. By coming to common consensus with these "down times" and still moving on as a couple it makes us stronger. Have you seen how a sword is forged? through heat and constant punishment of the falling mallet onto the anvil pounding the blade, yes there would be sparks scattered all over pain in his arms and sweat stinging his eye, but the blacksmith never gives up till the sword is forged. Solid steel, shining as light reflects of its body a firm grip, a master piece the product of his undying love and passion for what he does alone and out of sight in his workshop.

When was the last time you have chosen to use that ability of love? to over look all the arguments and pain in your relationship like how the blacksmith endures the pain and loneliness working day and night on his blade, and you on you relationship. Have faith in God and your loved ones, allowing Him to guide you as you bring you hammer down. Forging you blade with perseverance, patience and love. A fruitful relationship awaits you then at the end, priceless and attractive, people will be marveled in awe. A relationship which defies time and space even till the end of your days.
